Magazine springs will not wear out. Heat is what kills springs. It's an issue with recoil springs that cycle fast enough to get hot, mag springs not so much.

I have learned to live my life by rules.
Say please and thank you take turns flush wash your hands these are all good rules.
I made up more: trailers and trucks should stay empty unless they are in use. Gas cans and propane tanks should be kept full.

I can ignore or override my rules but the rules provide a structure and minimize the need to think about things I have already determined.

When it comes to pistols everything in a holster is loaded with One in the chamber. All my holsters protect the trigger so I can't have a negligent discharge.

All my rifles are loaded but there's no round in the chamber.
Pistols that are not in a holster do not have a round in the chamber.

These are my rules. feel free to obey your own rules.

    Glad that never happens here.
Yes but we do it all in fun, and with love. They do it with hate and malice.

This is my rule too. I never lost anything...

...and I have a second propane tank for the grill.

Sounds like you need a revolver instead of a pistol.

This is the sort of knowledge we should all happily share on this forum.

    Yes, OP… I personally echo markshere2’s thoughts.

Loaded in holsters, unloaded out, “carry SBR” empty chamber with mag inserted.

I am guilty of tacticool press-checks on weapons without loaded chamber indicators or when at action shoots where everyone is wearing their cutest plate carriers…

Other than that, I try not to unnecessarily handle carry ammo.

Keep in mind that leaving it loaded is the safest option.

Loading and unloading an unholstered gun are the most likely times an accidental discharge will occur. It's still not LIKELY but it increases the chances to something above 0.

If left in the holster with a proper trigger guard it WILL NEVER FIRE.

Rather bold of you to assume I've peaked.

Scar, but yes. And I guess it is large enough to count as more than one.
