They understand they don't care. Come election time they'll puff out their chests and give some bullshit story about what a great job they did. Meanwhile the crooks will laugh all the way to the hood and the karens will suck it all up

It would suck if the Montgomery county gun shops will stop selling anything or providing range time to the dept as a whole....boycott the dept as a whole and the rank and file as well...

I support that idea but would expand it beyond the county lines.

Of course. Then the MontCo Sheriff, who issues the PA state firearms license to MontCo gun dealers, pulls their licenses for whatever created reason.

PICS knows when an FFL's state license has expired or has been pulled. Those dealers can't perform PICS checks.

Then what would you recommend? I agree this seems to be theatrics but it seems to empower the gun grabbers...

If that happened, a Section 1983 lawsuit for abuse of state power.

A lot of us have personal relationships with our gun dealers. We don't just go to the store to buy things, we also meet people. Swap field and range stories.

We would raise quite a stink if the local Sheriff closed sporting goods stores for silly reasons.

While it's a nice thought most Law Enforcement agencies have police stores where they get discounts. Many agencies share ranges.

I suspect that the Sheriff is going to perform a lot of due diligence before slapping charges or yanking licenses. They run for election. They would lose support of their hysterical allies if they were sued and lost in Court. By making enemies of people who might otherwise support "common sense gun safety" they got nothing to gain from phonying up charges.

Even if the Sheriff wins the lawsuit they would be exposed as a crank with an agenda. A lot of gun owners, oddly, support various forms of gun control. They would be annoyed if their favorite stores were shut for stupid reasons. "I never saw any of that in my store.... what is wrong with this clown, bothering legitimate business people?"

Gun stores are always ready to pass the muster because the BATF&E are watching them. This person would be a routine irritant, and who knows? Maybe the stores could use the visit to entice the Sheriff's deputies to make a purchase here or there? Maybe they could use the visits to unload ware that isn't moving very well?

Inspections will be based on 14 criteria laid out in the existing Uniform Firearms Act, and graded according to levels of importance to public safety.

Those 14 criteria include such things as the display of the dealer*s license, availability of locking devices and comparing current firearms inventory to confirm that it matches disposition records and comparing received firearms with sales."

It sounds like Sheriffs have a CONFLICT OF INTEREST if they, as valid transfer points, are 'evaluating' legal FFLs (their competition) for compliance.

This kind of law enforcement overreach just might be ripe for a protest - DEFUND THE POLICE...!!! Especially since these politically-oriented LE managers are usually not promoting or doing their job of catching criminals with the money taxpayers are 'investing'. Keeping criminals in jail, or not as the current case is, falls at the feet of the similarly politically-oriented NON-Justice System.

Short of watering the tree of liberty, it is critical that every Constitution-loving citizen wakes up to this constant assault on our Rights & Liberties and VOTES for those who similarly truly love the Constitution.
