Default Got this on a trade

Just don't know if I want to keep or sell.
Kimber Stainless II, 9mm, 5" barrel, soft(er) black synthetic grips. Came with one 9 round magazine so I added 2 more.
Doesn't have the manual but all the other original paperwork that came with it is in the Kimber hard case.

    Thoughts?

I'd dump it. Besides Kimber's lackluster reputation I've never understood the appeal of a 1911 9mm. Why would I want all that weight and bulk for 9 +1 of 9mm?

I dont really know how you run guns, but I run them hard. I need a really good holster (modular QLS, for my safariland belt rig) and a bucket of magazines to really want to keep a pistol. I also really prefer pistols with electronic optics on them. Two gun action challenge is where it is at, for my tastes. If I am not going to run it hard, outside in the weather I am sending it to a new home. Otherwise, I would see it as a paperweight that just takes up space in a gun locker...

Well*..I*m on the flip side. I love it! I carry a Kimber Micro 9 when I*m on my time. Grew up with the 1911 platform, so I*m comfortable with it.
I have but no longer carry regularly a commander size, lightweight, 45, but it has a special place in my heart.
Working, I carry a 9mm with a RDS, beasuse it*s simply the best for my needs.

    But**..

Shoot it a bit before you decide.

I didn't grow up with a 1911, but IMO there are too many really good 9mm options to hold on to a Kimber full size 9. Harvest the monetary value and buy yourself something you've really been wanting.

Shoot it before you decide. With the lower recoil it should be a great range / steel gun. Not everything needs to be for carry.

I would sell it mainly because if its not double stack capacity as a 9mm there are many better options especially at that weight and size. A micro 9mm carries 9+ rounds.

I picked up a Springfield garrison 9mm, basically the same, shot it, it shoots ok and nothing special. I can actually feel the slide moving, felt weird. Then I bought a couple staccato 9mm*s, so now I*m selling the garrison.
    Today was a good day!
