Mas makes a very convincing argument! BTW, I did not realize modern AR's and shotguns should be considered NOT drop safe. I don't keep them chambered loaded for other reasons but am now more fully informed.

Mas didn't discuss the risks when carrying condition 0... like getting disarmed by a LEO and accidentally shot with your own gun.

I can't believe this didn't become the hottest poofa argument in months.

I guess because it's gun related, nobody cares.

I think mainly there are only one or two people that still advocate carrying on an empty chamber even though most guns are drop safe except for one stand out and everyone knows what that is. This is about the fourth or fifth time I've written these same words on this forum.

Well, you could also put your personal opinion in

I don't care what MAS says, or what the Israelis do. Everyone has to decide their own comfort level. I'm not comfortable carrying condition 1 or 0 all the time, for various reasons. If you are, great. I would be interested if there are figures on people who accidentally shoot themselves with their own handguns.

The part about drop safety was interesting though, I've definitely seen the dimples on AK rounds.

He talks about "what if someone grabs your arm." He's not wrong, but I'd argue that if someone who's a likely threat got that close to you in the first place to grab your arm, you didn't do your part with regards to situational awareness.

I only go condition 1 or 0 when there's a higher likelihood of contact, like when I go to an ATM, or when I'm checking out a noise in my yard at night. I have still managed to completely avoid Philthy since the venerations of Saint Floyd, but I would definitely go condition 1 there.

Carrying without one in the chamber is stupid.

    There you go!

    And that's not my opinion - it's a fact.
