My biggest concern if something did go down without a round already chambered is failure to feed. The last thing I'd want to be doing is pulling a gun to defend my life and go to rack it and have a failure to feed. When seconds matter and your gun won't go bang, I'd consider that a major caught with your dick in your hand moment.

I understand that is fairly rare but it does happen. I'm sure everyone in this thread has went to rack a pistol and had not feed correctly at some point. Now imagine a guy walking into a store and starts shooting, your adrenaline starts pumping and you have to draw your pistol and remember to rack it and hope it feeds.

I carry OC mostly and a chambered round always. I will make no argument regarding another's
choices. Hopefully we will all use our best personal judgement, train, and live our lives
    consistent with carefully considered choices.

After all, these are lethal devices, and shit can go sideways unexpectedly and with a quickness, one way or the other.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Never happened with either of my Smiths... full size M&P9 or the Shield.

Not inferring that it couldn't ever happen, but anyone concerned about reliability is carrying the wrong gun.

Likewise, anyone concerned about their gun "going off" is carrying the wrong gun.

Not sure why this was directed at me. I would never carry a gun with an empty chamber. If I had that little faith in my ability to safely carry a fully loaded gun, then I wouldn't carry. You're either all in or not, IMO.

I think he was echoing/supporting your comments.

But anyway, if you're "all in," you wear your plate carrier all the time?

That would be one of my biggest concerns as well.

I wear mine like a corset to keep my belly tucked in.

Wasn't directed at you, I was adding support to your comment.

LOL, no plate carrier yet. I get it, to each their own.

One thing no one should be concerned about carrying condition 0 is getting disarmed by LE and shot with their own gun.
