Default Anyone Have Experience Building ARs From These Guys ?

Thinking about building another AR. Anyone use either of these guys at all, and are they decent products? Looks like pretty affordable stuff.

    "Durkin Tactical"

It's not "their" stuff - they just sell it.

In the past, I've been able to easily identify some kits that were Bear Creek Arsenal parts.
They made it very easy to confirm this by doing a 100% copy/paste of the descriptions/specs straight from the BCA website onto their own. LOL

I'm assuming they buy up "closeouts" and similar such batches of goods from various makers/vendors and sell them at good prices.

Durkin is good to go as a vendor - they are legit.
Parts kits are pretty much luck of the draw and sources can vary - they even mention it in many listings that handguard styles vary by availability.

If looking for a budget build, I would consider them, but if you are particular about things, source all the parts on your own, and assemble.

    "Delta Team Tactical"

Meh. I would avoid unless it's the only way to afford it.
I have looked at their stuff and it's a mix of decent and China garbage.

Any time a vendor uses "bad assed" names for their kits, it's a sign that it's marketed towards people who care more about buying "The Destructinator AR" than buying quality parts.

They also have at LEAST two other websites that sell pretty much the same stuff. And once you are on their mailing list you will get spammed daily if not more.

I've purchased a few individual parts in the past, but I steer clear now.

Well, ended up going a part-by-part route for the rifle build, came out pretty well. Primary Arms lower & complete upper, Anderson BCG, generic on the LPK and stock, and a Rise Flat Super Sporting Trigger.

Since I had another lower I'm doing an AR pistol next, this time going with the Durkin guys. Everything but the lower shipped and taxed for ~ $275. Won't be the go to when the balloon goes up, but just for fun.

Question: Any recommendations for a muzzle device for a 10.5" barrel? Anything different than a typical AR?

    Thanks.

This is what I used on my 7.62x39 pistol.
I didn't want the same old KAK flash can that everyone else was using. I hoped that it would have protruded a little more from the handguard so the cone shape would be more visible, but it's still cool. I guess I could add a short extension if I really wanted to push it out a hair more.

One thing to consider is how it will look if the barrel extends past the handguard vs tucked inside like mine is.
MOST of the kits I see include SHORT handguards with the barrel extending past the end.

The reason I chose what I did is so that I would get as much surface area as possible to grip and to be able to attach a light.
Those dinky 4" long handguards don't give you much to work with.
Edit: nevermind - I forgot you said 10.5"

Durkin usually has a pretty big setup at the gun shows. I*ve bought a few parts from them and never had a problem.

I've bought some cheap parts from delta team tactical. It works. Nothing overly impressive, but it works.

In 7 durkin kits, I've had 2 bad bcg's. I identified both of them as PSA's from their markings, so it appears psa sent durkin their scratch and dent's. Either way, I emailed durkin both times and they promptly replaced it without delay. Everything else was good.

Well, my Durkin stuff is sitting right here, hope to make some progress over the weekend with the assembly. So far everything seems good, I'll try to post finished pics and a range report before too long.

    Thanks for everyone's input.
