    Default Gun Giveaways

I host a group on Gab that lists free giveaways. Mostly gun related stuff but a few other things.

    https://gab.com/groups/40526

I thought I'd share the gun giveaways here. Some are for really good stuff. Some are for lesson known brands or weird stuff. I post what I find. (I avoid anything that looks sketchy)

Hopefully this doesn't go against any forum rules. I couldn't find anything in the rules but if it does, by all means axe it and I won't put it back. No harm meant.

All the giveaways listed are free to enter. No raffles or paid entries of any kind. Some are referral links. Some are not.

Most givaways I post only require an email to enter. You can often (not always) get additional entries by liking a Twitter post or viewing a gun store's website, etc. But an email is usually enough to get 1 entry. Some demand a phone number. So you have to decide if some are worth it.

You are advised to use a spam email account for online contests and to not be stupid with the information you give out.

If these aren't your thing.... cool. It's a fun hobby for me. Sort of like playing the lottery, but for free.

Not thread-crapping, just asking in all seriousness: have you ever won anything?

I entered in them religiously for several months a few years ago, then I gave up.

I've won other things. Never a gun though.

I know someone who has, and that is where I got the bug for it.

Some of them are big highly publicized contests where you get 1 entry and compete with 30,000 others. Those don't excite me.

I try to find ones that are smaller and give me 1 chance in 1000 or better.

I've never won any of the gun-related ones, but I did win $1,000 from Fandango (before Uncle Sam took their pound of flesh) and some other things from various sweepstakes over the years.

So who is profiting from this (and how)?

    Update to your question!

Yes. Now a couple weeks ago I won an AR! A nice one, too.

I should pick it up from the FFL later this week. (They took some time to process it and ship it. The freebie wasn't a priority, which I understand)

Instead of signing up for these online "give-aways" that are more for email address harvesting than they are promoting business, go buy a raffle ticket from fire department where the proceeds go to protecting your and your neighboring communities.

Your chances on winning one of them are far greater than the spam-generator give-aways.

    Well....

Yes. This is why I suggest using a spam email account just for this purpose.

However, most are legitimate promotions from gun stores or accessory stores trying to get a buzz going about their store or their new product line. They may still use the gathered data for email spam.

I try to avoid the ones that appear to be data miners and just do the ones who seem like smaller groups/vendors trying to self promote their products.

Others want to get more Twitter/Instagram followers and reposts to give their accounts more reach. That is their goal. But they are legit vendors or manufactuers (usually)

There are some that are sketchy AF. I don't repost those.
