Scopes are "prism" in that what prism scoped allow for is a diopter adjustment. The little adjuster to the rear eye piece allows the shooter to tune the image for their eye. Those of us with an astigmatism and not so perfect eyes, this helps clear up the image. It is like having glasses on your scope, while you wear your corrective lenses. The best way to approach this is not from an equipment angle but from an objective question "What do I need this tool to do?" With that question, there will still be a trade off in weight, price, size and performance.
