Right. My first centerfire rifle was a Marlin 336C, got it for my birthday when I was 14(?). I think the price was around $150. I sold it about 10 years ago for $375, which was a good price. I'd love to have one again, but at $1200, there's not chance. $750, maybe.

I got mine for $125 at Best. Well my dad did. It was a straw purchase.

They haven't made good ones for awhile. Remington bought marlin, moved the production to a different state and the quality went to absolute garbage

Yeah, it's a bit more than it should be. Im not a buyer at that price either, just happy to see them back in production. At least a $1200 MSRP might come down to <$1,000 street price. Maybe $700-800 on a hot deal?
