    Gun powder measuring device.
Short story is to set scale to balance on zero, then set weight of charge you want, drop powder into pan until it balances.

It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.

If I still had to use a beam scale, I probably would give up reloading all together. Reloading is time consuming and tedious enough, I have an RCBS digital measure/trickler and absolutely love it, Although I verify the charge with a beam for the first few rounds and a sampling every 6,8,10 or so depending on the number in the batch. I single stage most everything for the manual bolt, lever, revolver guns in 50 or 100 round batches. The 223 and auto pistol go on the progressive in 1000 round batches minimum.

I use the beam to periodically check my digital as well.

I use (2) beam scales. Both RCBS, a 5-0-5 and a 5-1-5. I think the 505 was given a new model #, and the 515 out of production(I bought it in the 1980s).

I do. I was taught reloading by my grandfather and then my father starting about 70 years ago. I still use a scale that I've been told is about 100 years old and checks out perfectly with test weights.

I had an old RCBS beam scale I gave away to a friend who was getting started in reloading. I still have a Dillon Precision beam scale mostly gathering dust on my desk and I would give it away too to someone who needed it.

Lyman OHAUS M5 since 1972. Use for every serious rifle round, used to percentage-check powder measure on things such as handgun rounds.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

An old friend of mine, his dad was a chemist, he had a triple beam scale that was so accurate,
it had to be kept under glass so just the movement of air in the room would make it go berserk.
He place a human hair on it and it bottomed out.
