Re: Replace BCG in PSA upper?
What he said.
And doubly so cause he didn*t use the term *mil spec*.Crusader's local #556 South Central Asia chapter

Re: Replace BCG in PSA upper?
If anything is going to fail, it'll probably be the bolt. It's unlikely that you'll send enough ammo down range to adversely affect it unless there's a defective or out of spec part in the BCG.
Purchase a complete backup BCG by Microbest and shoot the rifle with the one supplied with it. Keeping a spare complete bolt assembly in the Magpul pistol grip storage well is a good idea.

I just found this guy*s channel. Some great info on BCG*s. He even has a cutaway BCG that helps us *visual learners*

If you want to spend the money to be able to say your BCG is a DD and perhaps have a MARGINAL gain in reliability, go for it...but the odds of it actually getting you better results are low. Any milspec BCG is going to last the average user years...possibly a lifetime.
That said, DD is a step up and a nicely made piece. And priced accordingly.

I believe that there was a video a couple years ago that talked about Battlefield Vegas and how they have meticulous records on all of their guns. According to them PSA bolts far exceeded most other higher priced BCGs.

Re: Replace BCG in PSA upper?
But it's not because it costs 3-4x more than the average car. Like a DD BCG.
What return are you getting on that price? Will it speed up the action by .01 seconds per round? Will 'wear less' because it may have a space age coating? Anything actually measurable? (Other than measuring yours against your friend's non-DD BCG, lol.)
