    No need to over-react unless one actually owns more than a gun or two

    Ha! They aren't "pausing" anything.
    They're just planning better ways to do it without notifying anyone that it's being done.
    I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

    There is definitely a difference between pausing and nixing.

    I already own the guns. Don't need to buy more.

    Same for the ammo for the guns. Unless there is a war (and maybe even then), I already have more ammo than I can ever shoot.

    Three years ago I probably said the same thing, then I donated to Rittenhouse and the credit card companies es flagged and refused to let those donations go through. Then I donated to the Canadian Truckers, remember the government telling the banks to freeze assets?
    Don't worry, the government would never weaponize your finances just because you spend your money in a way they disagree with.

    If the govt wants me, it can already get me. It doesn't need credit card companies as a middle man. I don't spend money anywhere interesting anyway.

    As for donations..,I bet a donation to me would go through. Wanna try? (;

    Probably a good idea to not make them want you. You aren't famous, if they want you, they will get you because there aren't enough people who care, that's the only reason Tucker, Trump, and a few other high profile people are still alive.

    There's a difference between gun classification codes and telling what you bought. For all visa knows, you went to a gun store and bought a hat. Or a lot of hats. They don't see the line items of a baretta 92fs and 1000 rounds of 9mm, they see $900 at buds gun shop. Guess what buds gun shop sells aside from guns and ammo? Hats. The atf already has your 4473. They don't need visa to tell them what you bought.

    That's true, but that information puts you in a group. They could probably look through DMV records and isolate a group of people who own pickup trucks and it would 90% overlap with the outdoor sports buying group.
    The big danger of this is it's baby steps.
    What could they find out from this info, probably not much on a personal level, but as a group they would know how much is spent, what times of year, after or before events like elections, etc.
    This is good information to have, if they were to screw with the economy, what works to influence spending.
    So even if you doubt they could ever use this info to personally effect how you spend your money, you have to believe.they could use this info to manipulate the spending of a particular group within the population.
