Birdcage acting like it's welded on...but it isn't
Ordered a small muzzle brake for the Bullpup (KelTec RDB). Thought I'd meanwhile see about removing the factory-installed cage. This has a lock nut. A wrench can be placed on each part. No go. Four ounce ball peen applied to the cage's wrench while holding the locknut's wrench. No dice.
Heated the cage enough to break down any LocTite that may be present while keeping a wet paper towel on the barrel. No joy. Giving signs of threads totally locked up due to galling. Guess I won't be installing the brake. Good thing they are unnecessary on .223s anyway.There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Soak it in a can of your favorite lubricant? Word is ATF + acetone works well, but not sure if would hurt finish
