    Default Fake gun store thread

A lot of fake gun stores have been popping up on-line lately. I have come across quite a few and have seen others on PAFOA post about some in the past. Some tell tale signs are abnormally low prices and accept Zelle or PayPal Friends and Family, Venmo etc for payment. I want to start a list of stores for people to refer to as a resource of where not to buy and help others out. Please post the website and why you think it is a fraudulent site. I will update the OP with the site and the post # that explains the reason it is a fake site.

This thread is for fake stores, not stores that you had a bad experience with. If you have reason to believe a shop listed below is legitimate, please let me know.

Gateway Ammunition https://gatewayammunition.com/produc...ounds-xm855cs/ Reason is post #5
Ammunition Gunbroker https://ammunitiongunbroker.com/ Reason is in post #4
Georgia Gun Shop https://georgia-gunshop.com/ Reason is in post #7
Hmdefenses not to be confused with hmdefense which is legit. https://hmdefenses.com/ Reason is in post #8
OpticsandAmmo Opticsandammo.com Reason: See McSulls post #10. Lots of on-line support about this being a scam.
Texas gun store. https://firearms-texas.com Reason see post #16
Strongammo. https://strongammo.com/ Reason see post #18
Strap Weapon shop. https://strapweaponshop.com/checkout/ Reason see post #20
Bulk store deals https://bulkstoredeals.com/checkout/ Reason see post #21

I'm thinking that this should qualify for a sticky so it's easy to find.

    Gateway Ammunition
    https://gatewayammunition.com/produc...ounds-xm855cs/

    1. Abnormally low prices. $268 for 1000 rounds of .556.
    2. Accepts Zelle for payment.
    3. Many complaints on BBB and they are unable to locate the company. BBB reviews

https://hmdefenses.com/ This one is tricky. Hmdefense at Hmdefense.com is a legit site with legit products. The website here has the same web address except it adds an *s* at the end making it hmdefenses. It uses the same logo and lists the hmdefense address on it*s page to give it a deeper appearance of legitimacy. The real hmdefense appears to be a distributor who sells through dealers.

In this case hmdefenses only accepts Zelle, Apple Pay and PayPal friends and family.

I would say a very tricky scam site.

While I realize that not all stores take credit cards, the bottom line is this: do not do business with any store that you're not physically in, unless they take a credit card.

Even with that, some of the stores list credit cards as an option along with Zelle, ApplePay, Crypto Currency etc*. Which still sends up major red flags and are often accompanied by other red flags. It might list PayPal (which can be a warning sign in some cases) as an option with credit cards and but could also be legit and require deeper digging. It might accept PayPal for non firearm items on the site, (sports gear, tents etc.) but not for firearm related items. (If a site offers PayPal for guns it*s a red flag because of PayPal*s rules against firearm transactions. Paypal Family and Friends is a red flag on steroids.).

I*m speculating but some might list credit cards as a way to alleviate suspicion (but now they have your credit card info). From what I am noticing they seem to list credit cards but offer a substantial discount if you use cryptocurrency to entice you. They also offer instructions on how to open cryptocurrency accounts.
