.....except that when you pay with Apple Pay, you're paying with a credit card (if you set it up that way).

Just want folks to know...when you pay with Apple Pay set up with a credit card, you get the exact same protections you get when you use the credit card without Apple Pay.

Still wouldn't buy from such vendors though.

In the case of THIS vendor:

In the case of this vendor, this is your sign they're a scam. A legit vendor won't deal with Apple Pay like this. A legit vendor will have a button you click that immediately invokes Apple Pay on your phone.

In this case Firearms are prohibited by ApplePay making it a red flag.

    Prohibited Uses
You may not incorporate Apple Pay into a website that:
Violates any law or otherwise fails to comply with legal requirements
    Offers transactions involving:
    Tobacco, marijuana, or vaping products
    Firearms, weapons, or ammunition

Here's a long list from an Arfcom thread.

Lol. looking at that list gunsexpresszone.com immediately caught my eye and I read it as Gun sex press zone instead of Gun express zone.com. I decided it needed further before realizing the mistake. No longer active.

Right. So if a vendor is willing to violate the TOS for a payment service, there shouldn't be any doubt that it is willing to screw over its customers and is a vendor best avoided.
