Obviously I despise this gun classification move, but unfortunately it seems to be no different than the other companies.
That is true about the CS.

Yep, that's why they do it. Most other businesses just expect that as a cost of operation. I guess profit margins are so low on guns that vendors need to recover that %. It does seem one of the few 'industries' where that is openly advertised.

Maybe just differences in how we use the card. I use it to buy guns / ammo online, face to face purchases are almost always in cash.
Honestly, they are probably tracking it on, I just don't know it.

That doesn't sound like good financial planning.

This is an anti-gun website that grades banks based on how much business they do with the gun industry. I guess we're seeking banks that got an F.

I think it also sets the stage for banks, processors, etc. to more easily blacklist gun/ammo dealers if they so choose (as PayPal did eons ago). And of course it also ensures that no one is getting cashback bonuses on purchases of guns/ammo. As of last year, US Bank started to reclassify a slew of gun/ammo dealers on their own and I didn't get the usual "Sporting Goods" cashback I used to get on virtually any of them. They moved them all into a "Misc" category that earns no bonuses. In short, I think this is all part of the current trend for businesses to steer political issues where they want them go when legislation cannot (or it can, but not as quickly as they'd like).
