Default 🎣 Fishing license could get more expensive in Pennsylvania

    💰 🤔

    HARRISBURG, Pa. —
The cost of a fishing license could be going up in Pennsylvania.

During a special meeting Wednesday, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission gave preliminary approval to a plan to raise rates for licenses.

For Pennsylvania residents, the annual rate would go up $2.50 to $26.
    Non-residents would pay $4 more a year.
The biggest proposed increase is for lifetime licenses for seniors, which would increase $10, making those licenses $85.

Eh, maybe I'll get that lifetime option after I turn 65 and before the price goes up. I prefer fishing in NY, where the fish just live there rather than being only stocked.

You can get the lifetime license the year you turn 65. Don't have to wait for your birthday if it works the same way as the hunting license.

Interesting, I'll look into it. Maybe I can get it and catch some trouts this spring.

I got my lifetime license 12 years ago. I haven't made much use of it though. Wow, $85. I think I paid 35 for everything,
and it's all grandfathered. Regular license, Lake Erie tribs and Trout & Salmon stamp.
