When I started carrying years ago I switched from elastic drawstring shorts to cargo shorts to deal with the problems you are having. Still wear shorts and enjoy the comfort, still easy to carry. Costco will have great deals on them soon.

Another vote for cargo shorts. Infinitely more utilitarian while fulfilling the purpose functionally equivalent to athletic shorts, short of actually participating in a significant athletic activity (soccer, basketball, etc.).

I bought these in France last summer and also on Amazon.co.uk....

For the record, I did not CC with them in any place where it would be illegal.

100% PHLster Enigma for the win. It's a belt type chassis that fits your body and you can pick from a number of holsters that interface with them (Henry, Darkstar, PHLster, etc.)

You could actually play sports with this on if you wanted. Plenty have used them for hands on classes before. Since it's on your body you can wear whatever you want over it. So it's kinda like a belly band, but actually has some retention.

As for size of gun, with adding a foam wedge kit https://www.phlsterholsters.com/wedge-kit/ a lot of larger guns will still potentially conceal well.

I wear elastic waistband "running shorts" like these 99% of the time once temps are over 68 degrees.

Kel-Tec P3AT in a nylon IWB holster works perfectly fine clipped to the waistband with an untucked T-shirt.
