    Default Recomendations on good NFA firearms attorney

    I've got 13 approved form 1's , my Act 235, a PA concealed carry permit, etc. Now I get denied an eform4 for an "Open" background check today after a 10 month wait. Haven't had so much as a traffic ticket for years prior to the form 1's being approved, so I have no idea how they suddenly can't approve me. I'm not a legal person and would rather just hire an attorney to figure this out for me. Anybody know a good one in NEPA?

    Thank in advance.

    Attorneys charge by the hour, are you sure you want to pay for one?

    The ATFs NFA branch has been denying applications de to the FBI dragging their feet and not completing background checks. Essentially, this is the massive bloat of the government doing what it does best, saying No. Here is a link to read a bit more about it.

    Are you outright denied or denied/pending?

    The application is Disapproved with the folowing explanation;

    YOUR NFA APPLICATION HAS BEEN DISAPPROVED BY ATF PURSUANT TO THE FBI REPORTING A STATUS OF OPEN BASED ON
    THE REQUIRED NICS BACKGROUND CHECK. AN OPEN STATUS MEANS THAT THERE IS INFORMATION IN NICS OF A POTENTIAL
    FIREARMS PROHIBITION AND THERE IS INSUFFICIENT INFORMATION TO ALLOW THE FBI/NICS TO MAKE A DETERMINATION
    WHETHER AN INDIVIDUAL IS A PROHIBITED PERSON. YOU WILL RECEIVE A LETTER FROM ATF WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW
    TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITH FBI-NICS.

    I took a look at the article, thanks for the link. I guess I'll go get a copy of my FBI file and see what's on there. This should be interesting...

    Called and hired Prince law to help me with this. They advised me to get my FBI file and do the VAF, which I did. I was approved in like 7 days and now have a Upin. I have resubmitted the form4's (along with 12 amnesty form1's) with the upin and so now the wait begins again. Fingers crossed.

    We use both Prince Law Offices and Bowles Rice LLP for our firearm attorneys. For local stuff that's non-firearm issues, we use Houston Harbaugh, P.C.
