Pennsylvania lawmakers propose ID law to purchase ammunition
According to the lawmakers’ memo, current law prohibits ammunition from being sold to anyone who the seller has reasonable cause to believe is younger than 18 or 21 depending on the type of ammunition.
However, the law does not currently require sellers to verify the buyer’s age.
Members signed on to the memo were Rep.Benjamin V. Sanchez, Rep. Mike Zabel, Rep. Stephen Kinsey, Rep. Maureen E. Madden, Rep. Jeanne McNeill, Rep. Napoleon J. Nelson, Rep. Joe Webster, Rep. Regina G. Young, Rep. Perry S. Warren, Rep. Emily Kinkead, and Rep. Dan Frankel.

Re: Pennsylvania lawmakers propose ID law to purchase ammunition
That law is raciss and designed to prevent black folk from buying ammo. We already know that they are unable to get ID to vote.

Re: Pennsylvania lawmakers propose ID law to purchase ammunition
Both excellent points.
This is a solution in search of a problem; in reality, it's just another hurdle to make it harder to exercise an enumerated right.
My test for all proposed gun laws is this: apply it to abortions, too. See if the pro-abortion mob approves. Nobody gets an abortion unless the doctor makes a copy of her photo ID and keeps it for law enforcement to review.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

Re: Pennsylvania lawmakers propose ID law to purchase ammunition
How will they actually enforce this though? Require IDs be scanned like alcohol, forcing many small businesses to invest in new, expensive tech? Create a state run ammo sales board and store (like plcb and wine&spirits)? What about private, FTF sales of ammo?
I mean, if they want to push this, it will create a black (grey?) market for ammo. Think “war on drugs”. Any time .gov gets involved with regulating ANYTHING it creates more demand with less oversight. Effectively nullifying their effort and/or creating more “felons” (because criminals dont follow laws, remember? Thats why they are criminals…)
Guess im in the private FTF ammo sales game if this passes, just to piss in theie cheerios Phil, Can i put you on speed dial?

the good news is the republicans do have the senate, so we will see how long they have a spine to prevent any of these bills going through
