🦌Pennsylvania hunters want change
🤔 Harrisburg — The Pennsylvania Game Commission is staying the course with the Saturday deer season opener.
During its Jan. 28 quarterly meeting, the board voted unanimously to keep the Saturday opener in place. The motion was preliminary, and final approval will be needed at the board’s meeting in April.
Hunters packed the auditorium inside the Game Commission’s headquarters, and seating was added to a lobby where more crowded in to watch a live-stream of the meeting.

'...traditional weekend buildup to opening day.'
That's a good one.

Why would any hunter have any issue with more days to hunt, especially on a weekend?

Re: 🦌Pennsylvania hunters want change
For every year I hunt opening day up north, I leave on Friday morning.
Rifles are sighted in and everything I need is ready.
Saturday opener is a non issue.
Sunday is a bonus and I'd like to see it expanded.
I don't drink so bar hopping isn't a concern for me.
I always liked Monday openers but I'll hunt when I can.
The last 6 years I've been successful in my back yard, getting a buck each year with a crossbow. It happens in early archery, during rifle season and in the late archery, flint season.
I.get into the woods a lot more than my buddies, most of which shoot 1 to 3 rounds the week before the season off a bench and wonder why they miss a deer in the field.
Tradition on Monday opener?
Not important to me.Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.
