....what is your impression on the GSG? I've had my eye on one of those.

WASRs are usually good, although I'd personally steer towards a newer one. Some of the older ones have issues. If you're only going to buy one AK, a new WASR is a good choice. Don't buy into the Arsenal or WBP hype.
The 1986 date us when the original rifle was built before it became a parts kit then rebuilt into a wasr. There were no wasrbuilt/imported in the 80s.

I think its a fun little "toy", but the ammo i was running gave me a lot of feed issues. It was CCI, and all the projectiles were pretty loose in the brass. I dont have a lot of .22 experience to know if thats a manufacturing issue, or a common .22 thing.

Mrs Ronin has a GSG 522 MP5 clone. It's a fun gun when it runs properly. It's ammo picky. Thankfully it likes cheap shit like Thunderbolts. When it gets moderately dirty it becomes a nightmare to deal with. A good cleaning solves the problem, but it's not the easiest thing to clean. I removed the collapsible stock and replaced it with an AR stye stock, per Mrs Ronin's request. Also, if you do get one, I highly recommend getting the HK push pin set and replacement screws from RRAGES. Also, if it doesn't have a pic rail, get the claw mount version from them, too.

Well, I value my dogs life over any humans on the planet, so thats a rough choice for the alphabet gang to come here. I'll blast first.
