    Default Barter- guns, gold, alcohol?

I know handguns need to be transferred. Is alcohol regulated for trades? I have some stuff I'd like to turn into different stuff without selling and buying. Do people in the real world use gold and silver for deals?

    Any thoughts? Thanks

id imagine legally in PA trading with alcohol is probably illegal in some way cause the state wants its tax money, but a lawyer would be a better person to ask.

I have exchanged silver for guns and guns for silver. The complication is that gold/silver are a bit volatile right now, so unless you plan to hold the silver/gold, it's not huge. Having 1oz .999% silver rounds are a good thing to have if there's a collapse of the system, they'll be the most likely accepted form of currency.

I was thinking more of now than later. Trading a nice bottle of bourbon for some ammo or a good coin. Or whatever

Re: gold and silver, yes...sometimes anyway. There's a guy up here who sells tractors and ATVs who willing takes precious metals on trade.

In a SHTF scenario, also yes...though I'm more inclined to have ample stock of "more readily usable" items to trade.

Post SHTF I suspect the good trade items will be soap, toothpaste, and deodorant.
