Default Setting up AR15 for home defense

My AR has been set up for coyote hunting with a decent scope and tactical light. I rarely hunt coyotes so I think I will strip the scope and get it set up for home and truck defense. I am talking close range, so I won’t be using any magnification nor will I be using a RMR sight(for now due to budget). I will need some type of night sights, a decent tactical light, and a sling.
How would you set it up to be effective for
    home/truck defense?

I would prefer an ar pistol, around 9-10" barrel, as small of a platform as possible, and a holosun 510. You're talking doorsways and hallways. Maybe even one of those 7.5" with a 5" snubby can, because if you shoot that thing inside, it's gonna be LOUD.

Throw a Sig Romeo 5 on it and you're done for sights.
Honestly don't recall ever seeing anyone talk about night sights, although I'm sure they exist.

    TONS of lighting options.
Here's a "light" thread I started a while back. The purpose was to find a SMALL light, but there's a lot of good info in the thread unrelated to what I was looking for.

Here's a sling that's small, light, not terribly expensive and has a built in band to keep the sling out of the way until needed. Perfect for a vehicle, or gun safe.

Depending on how close you are to other houses or how many bedrooms you have in your house with other people in them you may want to consider frangible ammo.

There you go. I figured SOMEONE made them, but the only ones I had ever seen were the $18 Chinese ones, and I wasn't going to suggest those.
