Surface area RE: Brace Ruling
The brace ruling thread ( https://forum.pafoa.org/showthread.php?t=393903 ) has gotten large, and I feel this question could get lost there, so...
There is talk about 'surface area' determining if a buffer tube (or attachment) is a stock.
- Is there an objective measurement/method for this?
- Does a pistol buffer tube - cylindrical, larger diameter than mil-spec or commercial - fall under or over the above measurement?
- Does a cheek pad (a.k.a. foam condom) now constitute a stock because of surface area? What about a crutch tip used to keep the pistol from slipping in the rack?
Inquiring minds...

Re: Surface area RE: Brace Ruling
According to my ffl...
If it has a buffer tube, and needs a buffer tube, and has nothing else, it's ok. If it has a buffer tube, but does not need a buffet tube, it's not ok. If it has a buffer tube, needs a buffer tube, and has a fin/brace/stock, it's an sbr. A foam pad for your cheek is ok.

Re: Surface area RE: Brace Ruling
As of today if the buffer tube is part of the operation of the pistol you are good. Who knows what they will alterp the deal to a year from now

What law are we referring to here?
Si vis pacem, para bellumμολ ν λαβέWhat country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms!
