You have a loose definition of "secure".

If you leave your gun on your dashboard in plain sight and lock the car, that isn't "secure". That's merely placed in a locked car.

Locking it in a glove box is also just locked in a glove box in a locked car. Still not "secure".

Vehicle locked, BG siphons gasoline from its tank, into a glass jug, places rag in mouth of jug, lights it and tosses it into dance hall killing 68 people. Vehicle owner's fault. Got it.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Been driving for 48 years and pulled over more times than I can remember.

Never been asked that question... ever.

It feels like an odd question to be asked. But I've heard it on more than one occasion. That's why I brought it up.

In Philly at least, many of the people report no forced entry into their vehicle or they are not sure if they locked the doors. So does that make the car less secure or not ? I also see many more theft from autos than I do home burglaries. I don*t see many gun thefts from safes or sucker punched carriers either.

Not trying to blame any gun owners over criminals who steal, but just trying to be realistic. If you had an expensive watch or piece of jewelry, would you leave it in your center console of your car for safe keeping or a safe in your house?

You better loosen up a little before stretching that far. You might pull a muscle or something.

Most modern vehicles have anti siphon gas tanks. But I guess we could blame the gas station owner if the BG just bought $2 worth of gas to fill the bottle and start the fire.

I ask apparent junkies if they have any needles on them. They usually answer honestly.

And some of the people that I interact with aren’t exactly Mensa candidates, you would be surprised what comes out of their mouths.
