I was thinking the same thing; it is federal. Watch out, I hear the fbi is looking for soft targets and easy wins. You may find yourself with 30 armed men at 5am outside your front door. Just remember not to pick up their camera toy as you walk out the door, and keep your dog in his or her crate!

Add to my first post - as I was thinking about this last night, a few other arguments came to mind:

    1) Municipal authorities have the power of eminent domain and the power to tax. Just their title, *municipal* implies they are a government function, and while not specifically listed in 6120 preemption, the list says *shall include* (MAs are not excluded).

    2) Municipal authorities are required to follow the ethic act, title 65 chapter 11. In said code, *government* is specifically defined to include an authority.

    3) Other municipal authorities have already been slapped down for trying the same thing. The South East PA Transportation Authority, or SEPTA, comes to mind (thanks to Sgt. K for taking on that fight!).

Yeah, I wouldn't post that online or quote it. Maybe admin can clean it up?

Yeah, throw shade towards me if you want, but that's my SOP these days. Has worked 3/3 times when unexpectedly confronted with security theater.
I'm pretty sure it the company CSC or 1 similar, I'm sure plenty of people get in with some sort of weapon

Yes, they have metal detectors at the Philly Auto Show this year. They also have half the car manufacturers there. Metal detectors aside, it was a disappointing show, and not worth the effort or risk of going unarmed. Should have gone to the Pennsylvania Auto Show at the Farm Show building in Harrisburg, instead.

I was there Saturday. The show was a bust, a lot of manufactures weren't there and what was there had a very lackluster display. The metal detectors were in place but I don't know how sensitive they were. I had a bit of metal on me and I just walked through with no alarms.

Disappointing news. I only go every few years and it's been an extended few years now. Was thinking of going this year and taking my nephew, but now, maybe next year.

Those shows cost the vendors a boatload of money and I'm sure it's gone up since last year. I reckon that the cost vs benefit ratio has gone out of whack. Everywhere you look, the squeeze is coming on strong. Smaller portions, higher prices, no more extras when you buy something. No facet of our lives shall be spared.
