How new process to purchase antlerless licenses in PA will work
    Brian WhipkeyPennsylvania Outdoors Columnist

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is revamping the way doe hunters can purchase an anterless deer license.

The agency’s board of commissioners is scheduled to vote Jan. 28 on a plan that eliminates the use of pink envelopes that have been mailed to county treasurers to apply for an antlerless deer license. For more than four decades, county treasurers offices were the only place hunters could purchase a doe tag.

I see plenty of 404 Error messages in my future. I usually buy my general license and a few DMAP tags when licenses go on sale. The web site can't handle the load. Hopefully this will be better. Not sure if I am going to apply for a doe license or not.

No more mail-in applications for doe tags
On June 26, hunting licenses for the 2023-2024 season will go on sale. You'll be able to buy those tags either online or with a license-issuing agent.

STROUDSBURG, Pa. — For nearly 50 years, hunters have been able to purchase hunting licenses at the counter at Dunkekberger's sports outfitter on Main Street in Stroudsburg.

But when you go to buy your hunting license on June 26, you'll also be able to purchase your antlerless deer tag. It's a significant change, putting an end to "pink envelopes" for doe tags.
