Extremely nice Military black powder reproductions
I thought I would post this link since I was looking at maybe buying a quality revolutionary war reproduction rifle. Maybe some of you here would be interested in this site since they seem to have quite a selection including pre and post-civil war. as well as pistols.

Everything is 599. Looks fishy but I'm overly suspicious these days.

Re: Extremely nice Military black powder reproductions
They are made in India
Stock wood is teak
The locks are iffy function-wise
Prevailing wisdom in the BP community is hit or miss if you get a reliably functioning one even after you spend time and $ tuning the lock, hardening the frizzen, lightening the trigger pull, etc.
That being said, I am told they have improved over the last 10 years.

Indian made repros, the castings can be rough from what I've read. They're also sold as non-firing and the vent hole will need to be drilled out. The rifles are all sold as smoothbores. They state its for sales to Europe and the UK.

Yes, if you're willing to deal with their quirks. You might want to check out Veteran Arms, as well.
In this vid, the blunderbuss on the bottom from India is from Military Heritage.

From my experience Pedersoli makes some good reproductions, Traditions is pretty low end and I hear that Jim Chambers makes some gorgeous kits.

Re: Extremely nice Military black powder reproductions
I have a pirate themed bar in my basement. I wanted to get about 6 or 7 different bp pirate reproductions but I wasn't looking to break the bank. I saw they had a bunch or reproductions from a bunch of pirate movies so I ordered them all. Took them to a local BP rifle gunsmith/builder who drilled them and set them up for me. I fired them all once so I can say I did, cleaned them and mounted them on the wall. They may never be fired again. Not sure I would have chosen this brand for a range gun or a gun I was planning on firing on any sort of normal basis, but for what I wanted them for they work perfectly. Only exception was the Queen Annes gun. I went with Petersoli because I couldn't find one in stock with Heritage when I was ordering. The Petersoli I would absolutely fire regularly.
