Ten people were killed and 10 others were injured when a gunman opened fire at a dance studio in Monterey Park on Saturday night, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The shooting occurred in the 100 block of West Garvey Avenue at around 10:22 p.m., sheriff’s officials said.

The suspect is male and is at large. There is no known motive, nor a description of a suspect.

Sounds like this is going to be some kind of "hate crime" and of course an assault weapon was used.

He also said police were investigating another incident at the Lai Lai Ballroom in the nearby city of Alhambra to see whether it was connected. No injuries were immediately reported in that incident.

Sources told Fox News that police believe the two incidents are connected and that they know the suspected gunman's identity. The sources said a "high-powered assault rifle" was used.
