    Default Home Computer Oddity

Ok, I'm no computer expert, but had something odd happen today.
I like my desktop units at home vs working off a laptop/ipad/phone.
Today, both wireless mouses stopped working. First thought batteries,
nope. So tried them on opposite computers, nothing.
I'm like how did they both stop working at the same time. My only thought,
both computers recently had software updates come across from windows - but
that can't be it, can it?
I ran to Best Buy and bought a new wireless mouse, and it worked perfect.
Tried my two old ones again and nothing.
Can any computer geek out there explain to an old dummy?

Should have went into your Bluetooth settings. Maybe the update changed something.

Did you try forgetting the BT pairing and pair again?

Didn't try doing either. Frustrated, ran out and bought new one - lol.
Makes sense though - I'll have to play around with one. I only bought
    one new mouse to try!
Now to figure out how to get to settings w/o a mouse - lol.
    Thanks!

I once had my wireless earbuds stop working because someone nearby had a different brand of generic earbuds that my phone started sending the signal to instead.

It happens to me from time to time. My mouse and key board connect via a USB Bluetooth dongle. I disconnect the dongle, delete the devices and reinsert the dongle which reinstalls the drivers and all is well with the world (wide web) once again.

It's doable but a major PITA. You should always have a wired backup for just these kinds of situations.
