Mossberg 500 combo vs standalone - difference in quality?
So MidwayUSA has the Mossberg 500 Field/Security combo for $419:
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1020321583?pid=122138
And the 500 Standalone with (what appears to be) the same 28" barrel for $459:
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1020317872?pid=780072
Are there differences between them besides the additional barrel that comes with the combo? It seems weird that they would sell the combo for less than the same gun with one barrel, so either I'm missing something or they've cut some corners on the combo model to reduce cost. What am I missing? Or what corners have they cut (quality? Plastic parts? etc?)Last edited by undertow; January 18th, 2023 at 11:34 AM.

Re: Mossberg 500 combo vs standalone - difference in quality?
Also note that the combo one is marked down, sort of. The list price is a good bit higher than "their price", anyway. How/why they cam sell it for less, I dont know...maybe Mossberg cut them a special deal.
But probably muddying the waters a bit.
