I don't know how much recoil reduction you're going to get, the 5.7 doesn't really have any to start with. Also I don't know that I agree about better reliability, since adding complexity to the system rarely improves it. While you're probably right about the cases not needing the coating I doubt that any manufacturer is going to make ammo that will only be reliable in one gun.

It's one of the stumbling blocks of reloading 5.7 cases. Once the lacquer wears off, it's difficult to replicate. That can lead to feeding issues in some guns. If the M&P can operate without it, then that opens more options for reloaders.

Case life with direct blowback guns tends to be only 2 or 3 reloads anyway.
