Shame you had the issues with the non-firing rounds. I think you are on the right track with the reason and solution. I recall reading about pinfire ammunition maybe 10 years ago, and my recollection is the primer was set in a drop of wax to hold it in position. Cool that you have the old diagrams though.

They are fun to tinker with. I think my solution will work. I'll find out soon

I look forward to watching the next movie. I don't know how wedging that primer in with paper would work though, it doesn't seem like it would be solid enough for a primer strike.

The paper should hold it tightly allowing the pin to puncture through the primer. Kinda of like a needle fire rifle
