There's an estimated 40 million braces in the US, and 8 ATF approvers. That's 5 million form 1 applications per approver. If we assume that an approver is processing a form 1 every one minute, around the clock, no sleep or breaks, it'll take 3472 days, or 9.5 years. If they work 8 hours a day, that's 28 years.

But the reality is there's roughly 2000 work hours in a year for a standard job, and assuming that's all they did, every day, that's 41 years of work. But what if, instead of 1 minute, it takes 30 minutes. That's 1,250 years of work per ATF approver.

How many atf approvers would be needed to get this done in a year? You would need 10,000 atf approvers to accomplish this task in a year.

All legality speak aside, it is just not possible to actually do.

I'd venture to say that 85% of gun owners (or the US population) could not follow that process.

The GOA with a short (under 5 minutes), clear video about the problem and the steps they are taking in response to the ATF*s new rules. I knew there would be lawsuits, but I did not know about the potential of a vote on the rule in Congress and it not being affected by the filibuster in Congress. It*s things like this that have made them my #1 source for my contributions.

I'm still not seeing it in the Federal Register.

There's lots of speculation on other forums that it hasn't dropped yet because the ATF wanted us to expose all the holes in their sloppy "rule" so that they can "correct" them before publishing it.

There was also a video posted on another forum, where a guy in what appears to be a cop uniform, claims he's buddies with an ATF agent, and says there's internal pushback from agents who bought pistols braced from the store. I was just looking for this video on the other forum to post it here, and now it's been marked private on youtube (might've had to do with the fact that if he is actually a cop, he probably shouldn't be doing youtube videos while in uniform). Who the hell knows.

ShadeRabbit may be correct ,no date has been established yet for publication, however as an ffl I have been invited to the ATF's webinar on the new rule this morning. I want this to go away, half my shop display is custom cerakoted AR pistols with braces of various manufacturers. I don't to waste time and money to reconfigure my investment!
