The "internet rule" was always that you MUST have a PISTOL buffer tube because you can not attach a stock to one.
I don't know if that was "law", but that's what EVERYONE used to say must be done on AR pistols - NO CARINE BUFFER TUBES.

Somehow that all went out the window when SB Tactical started putting arm braces on standard carbine buffer tubes.

I have no idea what any of that means for the current clusterfuck, but I sure as fuck am not going to test the waters by having a carbine tube on a pistol.

Who knows.
I had never heard of the tube size affecting anything up until the round of restrictions concocted just prior to the current "rule", when they began assigning "points" to various features ("LOP" was one of them) to come up with a number that determined what the fuck kind of gun you had in your hands.
I don't know if that crap is still in play or not. I don't think so, but I can't be certain.
