i didnt say it happened in the US did i. But the mandatory buyback in Australia was confiscation under the name of buyback. the idea has been floated by antigun groups and individuals in the US numerous times, look at the last dem presidential debates. some dems were open about wanting a mandatory buyback. isnt Canada in the process of pushing a mandatory buyback as well.

some politicans believe if a gun is over a magic weight it cant be a handgun and is a assault weapon. in the latest awb list its 50 ounces as being the cutoff.
