Re: ATF Just Dropped Their Brace Ruling
They specifically say in the text, you can destroy or turn in the brace, or register it. So i'm pretty sure taking the brace off is ok.
There's an estimated 40 million braces in circulation. This is going to a) cripple the eform site and b) make the nfa registered item list explode.

Re: ATF Just Dropped Their Brace Ruling
I am confused. If you have a 9mm carbine with a pistol brace, you now have to register it ??? Like an Extar EP9 is illegal now ??
Don’t like me ???? Tough, I don’t give a flying f@@k about ya.

Re: ATF Just Dropped Their Brace Ruling
Which makes me wonder. I'm sure there's hundreds of thousands of braced pistols sitting in gun shops across the country, which they won't be able to sell unless they have their SOT. Then they are going to have to be form 4, which means they're going to have a really hard time selling them.
This is going to create an unreasonable burden on small business owners.

Re: ATF Just Dropped Their Brace Ruling
There*s probably millions of braces out there. Seems like an argument could be made that they*re covered by Bruen as *in common use*.
Time to donate again to FPC and GOA.
ETA. And done for both.

Re: ATF Just Dropped Their Brace Ruling
This video here gives some detail but the guy says he didn't read the entire regulation as of the posting of the video. To summarize some stuff covered.
- He says that the regulations doesn't ban the possession of arm braces it only bans attaching it to an unregistered firearm.
- The ATF also did away with it's report card type system to determine if an arm brace firearms was still legal.
- ATF is offering a free registration within the 120 day period.
