Look up aow under nfa plus definition of pistol. >26" makes it not concealable so not an aow, designed to be fired with 2 hands makes it not a handgun. Imo how they measure is the only thing up for debate, but challenging that could go bad for us as idk if the whole "pin and weld" is in law or just their letters

So what's the current status on these stabilizing braces? I know there was a new Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals decision about two months ago enjoining enforcement of the ATF rule that a brace would per se turn a pistol into a SBR.

I think the Fifth Circuit held something similar before that.

Is the ATF still enforcing this rule outside of the Fifth and Eighth Circuits?

I ask because the info on the ATF website makes it look like it would be easy for them to prosecute for unregistered SBR possession (outside the Fifth and Eighth Circuit territories) if they really wanted to.

I haven't heard of any updates other than they're laying low. Shops have started carrying and shipping them again, both online and in store.

Usually, no news is good news. But with this, they could be just laying in wait collecting names. Or they could be waiting for after the election to see if they're going to have any power.

Obviously, iAnal, I'd buy one if i needed it, but I wouldn't take it to any public or private range because RSO's and fudds who aren't current on the law can and will make your life hell.
