See, i think we can take that one step further:

From an ATF standpoint they claim its a stock because it can be shouldered. They also claim that if you put a fleshlight in the brace, its not designed for shouldering. Ergo; you have an semi automatic gunpowder operated self fucking machine that sprays your load all over the range while you spray your load all over it, and its no longer an “assault style” pistol.

    Problem solved, /endthread and FTAF

If they tell me I need to register my "gun" as a short barrel I'm going to be offended and will require reparations.

You’re not likely to need to use your “gun”, as they say..

But, this situation is just a bad thing with bad feels, not to mention it promotes their ability to make more “rules”…. It’s about that angle for me, as I am a budding NFA purchaser anyway… and I’m on various agencies radars - professionally anyway.

So here 110 pages later, with the dickheads' deadline approaching, a question upon which I'm still not clear:

AR pistol, barrel *under* 16 total, and with a smooth pistol tube, no vertical foregrip, is there ANY brace on the market that could be installed on that pistol tube that would render it not a SBR under the new dickhead rules? Or, will ANY brace now render it an SBR?
Strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords, is no basis for a system of government.

    Not that I'm aware of.
That's their whole point - NO BRACE unless you apply for a tax stamp.

Here you go. Eight bucks shipped. Thinner material than the more common foam covers.

    No

So either ditch the brace or go through the tax exempt form 1 process which is fairly painless (except for the clear infringement and permanent addition of your finger prints to a federal database).

Or roll the dice. I mean the chances of ever interacting with an ATF agent are slim. And unless you're going down for other serious charges, doubt local LE or PSP are going to call them on you. And would they really even charge you if otherwise not doing anything wrong?

If you have or ever plan to have other NFA items the Form 1 route is clearly the best answer.
