People keep saying changing definitions.... in the case of braces what definitions did they change? There is no definition of pistol brace in the law, there isn't much of a definition of stock either. All they are saying in this case is braces are stocks and always have been. While I don't like it or agree. But it is their job to decide what is and isn't according to the laws congress passed. Their original interpretation of the definition said no to braces. When challenged they changed their interpretation of the definition and said yes they are legal under certain conditions. As a result of that letter and others, millions have bought braces for pistols and an entire industry sprang up.. Now they have changed their interpretation of the definition again making millions felons if they don*t jump through some hoop or another. In the meantime Bruen has come about and it can be argued the common use section can be applied to braced firearms.

The arguement isn't against sbr's or nfa or the atf's radar. It's the atf's thinking that they can create laws and change definitions without proper legislation. Saying you'll comply just because you already have an nfa sbr just because the atf says so is a problem, because the atf is no a legislative branch, they're an enforcement branch. What if the atf says semi auto are machine guns, so you must register them as such. Will you register your semi auto machine guns? People are saying they're not registering because they don't recognize the atf as a legislative branch.

I was at first surprised by the number of guys/gals at a local monthly event which I attend that were just gonna do whatever the ATF said and take it in the rear.... Now though, many more are talking tough and just plan to ignore it all. Hmm..

I think the ATF has at least made that much clear,so he really doesn't need to say anything at this point.

I still say I've never seen the legal definition of what a stock is. If there is no definition they can't change it.
