I submitted the application online and received an email approval in 30 minutes. I made my pick up appointment for the next day. It took about 10 minutes get my picture taken and receive my permit.
It may be quicker for NJ residents since we have to provide evidence of our NJ PTC, and I'm sure the state of Pa. knows the hoops we jump through to get the NJ permit.
The whole process was unbelievably smooth and easy.

Before the deadly chirus it was even easier, just walk in but then there was a waiting line. That pre-approval and appt. does eliminate the in-person wait. I don't think your NJ permit speeds that up though, you just need to have it as an out-of-stater to get your PA LTCF. Congratulations and thanks for the info. People frequently ask which counties are good for non-resident permits.

Legally every county is required to issue out of state LTCF, assuming you meet the requirements.

I concur, the law says "shall issue' to both, resident and non-resident alike. However, it will take a PA Superior or Supreme Court ruling to force the anti-gun sheriffs into compliance. That takes lots of $$$$$$ - yes, that many dollar figures.
