Some of you guys are real lucky. I have been waiting over 8 months for and E file Suppressor. Submitted May of 2022. I still do not have it approved.
Get your suppressor purchases in now. Once the SBR rules change on AR type pistols with arm braces the flood of E-Forms will tie up the approval system for years.

Just got the OK from BATF last week. Took 9 months. Once you have been approved for the 1st one why should it take this long for any others ?

Because government, thats why. I am more disturbed by the fact that I must pay a tax and wait for approval to buy a gun muffler, essentially a safety device to protect myself and others from the dangerous sound.

Yes, two taxes (and two wait periods) unless you or the buyer is an FFL w/ SOT and you're transferring it on a Form 3 (but then you'd probably know this already).

Who pays is between you and the buyer. ATF won't care as long as they get their money.

Is it an MG? Usually has to be something rare to be worth the cost and hassle of a two stamp private party transfer.
