This thing is the answer to the question that no one is dumb enough to ask.

There won't be another AWB unless there's also going to be CWII to accompany it.

I probably wouldn't buy it for 2k. If it was cheaper and more traditional, I'd buy it as a range toy that shared ammo with other stuff I own. People with more funds than I, might still do the same.

Your dreaming if you think a war will be started over an AWB. It didn't happen last time and won't if it happens again. Fuck, we can't even get more than 100 people to come to a rally against these types of laws. Who exactly is going to be running and gunning after something like that passes, the same people who can't take a day off work to go protest against them? That's fucking laughable. It would go exactly as last time. Majority of people will comply. Those that don't will hide away their illicit items while they piss and moan about govt overreach, this time on the internet. A few will be hauled off to pay the piper when said illicit items are found or sold to the wrong person and we'll argue about it here.

    Same shit different day.

I bought a lever gun years ago to get ahead of potential bans. (and the obvious rush to buy up the best alternative at highly inflated prices)

These things did not exist back then or this type of gun is exactly what I would have sought out.

I*m sure they could make it uglier but it would take some work. If people are thinking about something like this as a hedge for an AWB, making it in a rifle caliber would be a better setup. Not at that price but something like it in 5.56 could be intriguing.

This gun being a potential way of skirting assault weapon ban may not work so well. One reason is all AWBs come with a magazine limitation. There is no real way to skirt that. Secondly some state bans include any firearm that has rails, threads barrels, so there goes that. Does anyone really think that the left will be satisfied with just an AWB? Look at California that turned passing gun laws into a spectator sport. Sooner or later lever and pump will be on the list. Especially the side gate loading type.

Maybe we should stick to fighting the gun bans rather than looking for soon to be banned work arounds.
