romak 991
I got this rifle a while back and its still in the bag never cleaned up or fired. I was hoping to convert it to a hi cap mag. I heard all I got to do is dremel the lower out to fit the mag. is this true or do I need to buy additional parts to make it work? Or will I be better of selling it? and how much do you think I can get for it (its brand new never fired)? thanks

Re: romak 991
If it is this, you got a pre-WASR "WASR" for all practical purposes...
http://www.gunsnet.net/Linx310/model.htm#991
Dunhams had the WASR versions of those last week for $299.00.
The WASRs at Dunhams can be hi-capped, perhaps ROMAKs can be as well. See:
http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=79&t=68410
But maybe ROMAKs cannot have the pistol-grip and butt conversions if the recevr was chopped, as the Romy info site suggested.

Re: romak 991
I converted my romak 991 into a high capacity gun.
It is not as easy as the write up on the wasr says it is. You have to do alot of work with cutting out the receiver. Took me several hours.
And mine does not have the receiver cut.I can take an assbeating like its nobodys business" - Doug Bryant

True, the WASR write up makes it overly simple.
It's not rocket science, but it does require care and takes more than 5 mins.
