    Default What's your Thanksgiving specialty?

I don't typically like to cook (that's the hubby's job) but I can get into it every once in a while. I prefer to bake more than anything else and pies are my favorite. I was thinking about what pie I would make this year and was torn between sweet potato and pecan until I found a recipe that combined both! I am going to make a sweet potato pecan pie and its gonna be yummy!

What does everyone else like to make or will be looking foward to?

Thanksgiving is always held at one of the inlaws houses. DH and his momma cook as a team. I stay as far away from the kitchen as possible during any time SHE is around.
I am a good cook actually and for special occasions I cook up an awesome LEEK and POTATO soup. It's run thru the food processor so it's creamy not lumpy. Sometimes I add fresh crumbled bacon (not the bits in a bottle).
I roast a mighty fine chicken too, and I serve that on Christmas.

I make a mean butternut curried squash soup... people that don't like squash by itself or curry by itself always end up licking the bowl afterwards. (Maybe it's the sherry, bacon and heavy cream that does the trick... haha)

I like the stuffing and gravy.

I made this up a few years ago. The wife always makes it with the left over turkey. Dice up some onion and garlic. Throw it into some bacon grease. let it soften up. Then toss in the left over turkey that has been shreded. Put in some bar b que sauce and a few shots of hot sauce. Heat through. Put on a hard roll. I think this is a good use for left over turkey.
