    Default Report injured/shot deer?

There is a deer just on the other side of my fence that I noticed standing awkwardly for a long time. I took out my binoculars and it has flesh hanging out of it’s neck and it is occasionally spitting up fluid. Looks like it was shot through the neck. It has 2 young ones with it, sitting down or staying near it. Will PGC do anything if I report it?

We didn’t hear any shots this morning so it could have been hit earlier. This is in East Nantmeal township on Fairview Rd between Glenmoore and 401.

They should come out, give them a call.

The fauns are weaned by now and should do just fine without mom around.

Couple years ago, a deer in distress was dying on the campus grounds where I work. I directed my security team to contact Chester County Animal Control who said they would respond within about 24 hours (to test the deer for disease). So, I told my team to contact the Township PD who promptly came out and dispatched the deer.

No rednecks around to handle it, take it home and make some tasty tasty venison jerky?

I wasn*t home when the game wardens got there. My wife said the deer went into the woods when they approached and they followed it in but she didn*t hear a shot. So I don*t know if they got it. It was kind of in a bad spot to take a shot unless they could get close due to the way it was sitting with regards to elevation changes, houses, fence etc. Hopefully it dies sooner rather than later, the way it was spitting I doubt it could eat or drink.

The 2 small deer with her were born a little later than usual if they are the ones I think they are. They should be weaned though and good to go on their own but were hanging around her.
