Because it*s frequently done on a blind curve. A vehicle going 10 or 20 over would be an issue. I know Pa. Is still pretty much in the 19th century when it comes to traffic science but isn*t there something in the vehicle code that prohibits completely blocking a thoroughfare?

The bus driver isn*t thinking past his nose. It*s Just like an old timey road block, he*s not leaving an escape route and causing a hazard where there does not need to be one. If his bus gets passed that often, he should use the camera to capture the incident and let you cops take care of it. Or jot the plate number down and report it when he gets back to the yard.

    This is pretty funny!

I just spent tonight's class blowing my students' minds up with environmental laws, where they come from, how they are LIMITED, and how various government agencies got slapped down by SCOTUS for overreach.

    Topics included:

Article 1, Section 8, Clause 3 (Commerce clause)
    5th amendment (Takings/just compensation)
Rough proportionality (Koontz vs. St. Johns Water Management District)
Significant nexus to interstate/foreign commerce (SWANCC/Rapanos)
US is a republic of 50 sovereign states. Federal powers are limited.

And I followed that up with 30 years of examples of municipal/local level government overreach in their region.

    Me: No buts!
    Student: But, why not?
Me: Because there's rules that say 'No buts'. Governments have to follow the rules.

Happens to me once a year or so; Bus coming towards me. Yellow flashers come on. I stop. Bus continues past me and stops behind me. What a chump I am.

But staying on topic, is it possible to trigger the citation under these circumstances? Is the technology clever enough to detect that the bus drove past me, and not the other way around?

Dashcam with GPS will show that you were stopped.

All that does is bring you back to the OP's dilemma. You still have to pay yhe $300 fine and the $100 filing costs before you get to contest it with your dashcam footage.

There's a very simple solution. Eliminate publicly funded school buses and require parents to get their kids to school.

They were just covering schoolbus passing on the news, said a company called Bus Patrol outfits schoolbuses with exterior cameras to record passers.

I'm with Carson on this one - I think about this frequently since my kids bus stop on a busy street thats also on a steep hill - if the bus blocked both lanes and someone came flying down the street, hitting the bus seems like a better scenario than hitting one of the kids crossing the street to get on the bus. thats an instant fatality. at least the bus is going to provide some level of protection. let it go, he's trying to do right by those kids.

....a lot of SEPTA bus drivers around the city pulls similar crap like that.
