Prices will never be lower, so start now, but be careful: When my son finally turned 18 and took possession of "his" guns (fairly early in my own firearms journey), more than 50% of the guns in the home went with him!

I've had plenty of time (and overtime) to rectify that, but get ahead of it if you can!

Better to start a 529 plan first. Get $20-30K in there by age 3 before worrying about buying guns.

Congratulations! You might end up surprised, we thought we were going to have a boy too and everyone was shocked when it turned out to be a girl. She's now a little over 4 months and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm still eyeing what to get her for her first gun but there will be one under the Christmas tree for her. My grandfather did the same thing, I have a pic with him when I was just a baby with my first hunting rifle which is what I used to hunt with when I turned 12.
