The Hanover Township Police Department confirms the blast happened in a wooded area behind the Hanover Area Soccer Fields along South Main Street.

Officials say the explosion happened within the jurisdiction of Sugar Notch Borough.

Any further investigation of the blast will be handled by the Sugar Notch Borough Police Department.
